Primary Uses Indications This medicine is used to treat functional dyspepsia (indigestion), non-ulcer dyspepsia (chronic gastritis), sensation of bloating, fullness, upper abdominal pain or discomfort, loss of appetite, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting. Side Effects This drug can cause diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, increased saliva, nausea, dizziness, headache, and tremors. Warnings Pregnancy This medicine is contraindicated in pregnant females. Lactation This medicine is contraindicated or not recommended in in lactating females. Precautions Itopride enhances the action of acetylcholine, and may produce cholinergic effects. Contraindications This medication is not to be given in gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation, or in conditions where increased GI motility will be harmful.
